My Daughters Comic Book Legacy

As I sit here playing Halo with my daughter, I realize that I’m a very lucky father. Not so lucky for her because she even looks like me as I was growing up both body and looks, I feel for her! I’m lucky because I have her and because of her, my path in this world and how I view that path, have changed for good, if not for the better. I now realize that all in this world is not for free, but it’s certainly not unobtainable and it’s all as much fun as you allow it to be. My father passed away early in my life (her age to be exact) and father figures were few and far between but fortunately we did have a close knit family to lean upon throughout my formidable years. As a matter of fact we still live on the same block (I’m recently replanted) in the same small town. So I’m lucky that I get to show her the way, so to speak. She doesn’t have to learn the ever changing lessons in life without the additional knowledge that my years have given me. As I reflect on my past and all that I’ve experienced so far, I realize I have an obligation to myself and to her to make sure she has hall of the tools at our disposal. I hope she has as much affinity to the arts and to learning as she does to our video game sessions. Because if she does, she’s going to be a name to be reckoned with. It matters to me not what kind of artistic talent she develops (as long as she doesn’t want to be like Britney or even Miley) as long as it brings her the pleasure and sense of wonderment as it brings to me and she truly believes in what she’s doing. Right now she believes in pwning her old man and that has me worried! Noobies, don’t you love ‘em?

Ain't it good to be G!
